Effie In The Headlines: Alix Lapri Arrested In DeKalb

Looks like the Power universe just spilled over into real life drama. Actress and singer Alix Lapri, best known as Effie Morales on Power Book II: Ghost, found herself behind bars in DeKalb County, Georgia last week.

According to official records, Lapri (real name Alexus Lapri Geier) was arrested on August 18th and booked on two misdemeanor charges: disorderly conduct and third-degree cruelty to children. She sat in the county jail for just over 24 hours before being released on August 19th. The alleged incident reportedly went down back on August 10th, but so far the courts haven’t dropped any paperwork explaining what exactly happened.

Here’s where it gets even more interesting: reports claim Lapri’s sister, Alijsha Lenea Geier, was arrested the same day on the same charges. So it looks like this situation may have been bigger than just Effie.

Castmates Step In

Lapri has stayed quiet online about the arrest, but her Power family came to her defense. Michael Rainey Jr. (aka Tariq St. Patrick) jumped on socials to clear the air:

“On the real though yall gotta start reading before commenting. She didn’t hurt any kids. Yall are hoping that’s the case so bad.. that’s crazy smh.”

Meanwhile, Gianni Paolo couldn’t help but keep it light, calling her mugshot “fine asf.” Fans were quick to clown, saying Tariq might finally be ready to cuff Effie after all (LMAO)

A Quick Lapri Recap

For those who don’t know, Lapri’s not just Effie. She’s been moving in the industry since 2011 when she signed with Crown World Entertainment, even dropping covers with Jacob Latimore (remember their version of Usher & Alicia Keys’ “My Boo”?).

She later released her own EP and linked up with 50 Cent and Gerard Butler for the action flick Den of Thieves.

What’s Next?

Right now, we don’t know the full story behind the arrest — no official statements, no details from law enforcement, and no comments from Lapri’s team. But one thing’s for sure: she’s still active on socials, posting her regular content like nothing happened.

Until the courts open the files, this one’s sitting in the “developing story” folder.
