The Feds Just Trimmed the Case Against Diddy; but Kept the Heat Where It Matters?!

Listen, the Feds just filed a major update in the United States v. Combs case; and they’re making some big moves. On June 24, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office hit the court with a letter basically saying:
“We're cleaning this up. But we're still coming hard.”
What They Dropped:
The government is no longer pursuing these charges:
Attempted kidnapping (under both Cali & New York law)
Attempted arson (California law)
Aiding or helping with sex trafficking
They’re not saying Diddy’s innocent on those; they’re just choosing not to go after those pieces anymore. Probably because it keeps the case focused and clear for the jury.

What They’re Keeping:
Sex trafficking and forced labor. And they’re not taking it lightly.
Even though the court wants to keep jury instructions short and simple, the government is pushing to include more details. They want to make sure jurors don’t get confused or come in with wild assumptions.
Basically: “Let’s keep it real and make sure the jury knows exactly what these charges mean.”

Why It Matters:
This shows the DOJ is being strategic. They dropped the fluff and doubled down on the strongest charges. They’re setting this case up to stick where it counts—and they’re making sure no legal confusion gets in the way.
This ain’t about headlines. It’s about making sure the court hears the facts clearly.
