Alright Good People, buckle up because this one’s wild and didnt expect the year to start like this. The Queen of Rap Lyric’s, Nicki Minaj, is in some serious heat after her day-to-day manager, Brandon Garrett; hit her with a lawsuit. And trust me, this ain’t just business drama, it’s personal!
Here’s the play-by-play: Back in April 2024, after her show in Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena, Nicki allegedly sent Brandon on a mission. After he retuned from this task; he confessed what Nicki believes to be a bad move.
Well its been said that Nicki allegedly sent Brandon on a mission to grab her prescription. But instead of handling it himself, he passed the task off to someone else.
According to the lawsuit, when Brandon got back, Nicki called him into the dressing room with the rest of the team and absolutely LOST IT. Allegedly, she told him after cussing everybody else out:
"Are you fing crazy having him pick up my prescription? You’ve lost your fing mind. If my husband were here, he’d knock out your fing teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just fed up your whole life, and you’ll never be anyone. I’ll make sure of it.”
YIKES. That’s a serious verbal takedown if I’ve ever heard one.
But it didn’t stop there. Brandon says Nicki slapped him across the face, hard enough to knock his hat clean off. (Not the hat, though.) Then, according to him, her security team stepped in and closed ranks. And get this—he claims Nicki smacked his wrist, sending the documents he was holding flying to the floor.
Here’s where it gets even crazier: Brandon says he locked himself in the bathroom, nursing a sore wrist and face, calling his fiancée to let her know what went down. And then, to top it all off, Nicki allegedly left him stranded in Detroit.
Stranded! In! Detroit! Yes, You READ that correctly.
Now, Brandon’s suing for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, looking for damages.
Nicki was has not said nothing publicly just yet about the incident or the lawsuit but her lawyer Judd Burstein told TMZ that the lawsuit is frivolous.
“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty (Nicki’s married name), and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations. However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor,”
