JD vs. Diddy?!

Early 2000 music fans, get ready for an epic Verzuz battle that's in the works! It seems like Diddy and Jermaine Dupri will soon go head-to-head in a music face-off that will bring back memories of a lifetime.

A video shared by Busta Rhymes on Sunday featured Diddy revealing that he would be battling it out against Dupri on September 8th at Madison Square Garden in New York. Diddy promises that the show will be unforgettable, telling Busta, "We're gon' have you out the rafters flying out the sky." Fabolous was also seen in the video, standing next to them.

While Verzuz has not yet confirmed the date, it's unclear how the showdown between Diddy and Dupri will be formatted.

The two first discussed a battle back in August during an Instagram Live session, where Diddy challenged Dupri, saying, "If you want that smoke, you can get that smoke anytime."

Dupri wanted the battle to take place in Atlanta, and rather than showcasing their solo work, they would go back-to-back with the catalogs from Bad Boy Records and So So Def Recordings.

"Since we ain't fing with Verzuz no more since 'cause they fing around with our boys, we don't need to be going against each other," Diddy said on IG Live. "Let's come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta. It ain't no Verzuz, it's just hit for hit."

Diddy's comments about Verzuz refer to Swizz Beatz and Timbaland's $28 million lawsuit against Triller, accusing the company of not paying them the full amount for which Triller purchased Verzuz in January 2021. Despite the legal issues, Diddy and Dupri seem eager to give fans an unforgettable performance, and it's sure to be a battle for the ages.
