Jay-Z Claps Back: Files Sanctions Against Tony Buzbee Over Alleged False Lawsuit

Y’all know Hov doesn’t play when it comes to his name, and this time, he’s letting the courts know it. Jay-Z and his attorney, Alex Spiro, have filed a motion requesting sanctions against attorney Tony Buzbee for what they’re calling a “false rap lawsuit” aimed at tarnishing Jay-Z’s reputation.

Here’s the breakdown:

The Allegations: Buzbee’s lawsuit accuses Jay-Z and Diddy of drugging and assaulting a woman in 2000 after the MTV VMAs. The plaintiff claims her father picked her up post-incident and that she witnessed the VMAs on a Jumbotron outside Radio City Music Hall.

  1. The Holes in the Story?:

    • The woman’s father has reportedly “no recollection” of such an event.

    • MTV’s request for a Jumbotron outside Radio City Music Hall that year? Denied by NYC. No screen existed.

    • Spiro argues that a simple investigation would have exposed these inconsistencies before filing the case.

  2. Jay-Z’s Position: The rapper is adamant that Buzbee’s lack of due diligence and reckless filing has caused unnecessary damage to his polished reputation.

  3. Buzbee’s Response: Not one to back down, Buzbee fired back, calling Spiro’s motion “frantic” and accusing Jay-Z’s team of bullying tactics, lies, and intimidation. He added, “We won’t be bullied or intimidated, ever.”

Jay-Z’s motion essentially doubles as a legal clapback and a lesson in professionalism, with Spiro calling out what he sees as a sloppy attempt at defamation.
